Festus

Estimated age: 3 Years

Sex: Male

History

Festus was surrendered to a high-kill shelter after his owner passed away in 2023. He was scheduled for euthanasia and we pulled him from the shelter. He has been with our rescue for over a year now and is waiting for his perfect home.

Personality

Festus is a big boy with a big heart. He is shy at first and can take some time to warm up to new people. When given patience and love, Festus gives you all of his affection and loyalty in return.

My perfect home…

We believe the ideal home for Festus would be quieter and more stable. We do not think Festus would do well in a home with children or dogs due to his shy nature. Festus does well with other friendly cats, but would also be happy as an only cat.

Pixie

In 2022, Pixie was brought to us by a good samaritan who witnessed her being thrown from the window of a moving car. It was immediately apparent that one of her front legs had been injured in the incident and we immediately sought medical attention for her.

At the vet we learned that Pixie was only about 5 weeks old, not even old enough to be separated from her mother. We were also informed that the nerve damage to her leg was permanent and we could amputate if it became a hindrance when she was older, but it causes her no pain.

As she continued to grow and play in her amazing foster home, everyone quickly realized that her disability did not hold her back in any way. Even so, a disabled cat is a responsibility that not every household can, or is willing to take on.

Pixie’s foster family has a daughter who lives in Colorado and when home visiting she fell in love with little Pixie. It was decided that if no one had adopted her by the time she was ready to be adopted then it was meant to be.

A few months passed with no other applications for adopting Pixie, and a road trip was planned! Now Pixie is living her best life in Colorado with her forever family, including her kitty sister Cora who was adopted from us in 2020!
